Summer with dogs and cats: Aries’ advice to help them and make them happy
We at Aries are by your side for the care of dogs and cats during the summer.
Summer has arrived and it’s the perfect time to spend time outdoors with our dogs and cats.
Often, however, the heat can be a big problem for the well-being of our four-legged friends.
So, what to do so that our favorite furry friends can feel fit, happy and hydrated even in the summer?
Let’s see it together.
Rules for the summer of our dogs and cats
We will give you some tips to peacefully face the summer with our furry friends, so that their health can be facilitated.
- Drinking a lot:
During the summer it is very important that dogs and cats, just like us, drink a lot. Make sure they always have a bowl of fresh, clean water within arm’s reach.
- Do not go out during the hottest hours:
High temperatures can cause our furry friends to overheat. Let’s not take them out, therefore, during the hottest hours. Rather, we prefer the hours of the morning or those closest to sunset.
- Give them a shelter in the cool
It is important that dogs and cats always have a point of reference, a safe and cool place to take refuge during the hottest hours of the day. Never, therefore, leave them unattended, especially near sources of heat.
- Never leave them in the car
The temperature inside the passenger compartment of a car can truly reach inhumane levels. Never leave your furry friend alone in the car.
If you have to face a long journey with him, always leave the window open for him a little, or use the air conditioning and take advantage of the breaks to cool him down.
- Take care of his paws
Our dogs and cats walk down the street, on the beach; for this reason their paws can get very hot in summer.
Do not take your pets for walks on surfaces that are too hot. Prefer cooler places and times, or get them special shoes. Check the paws often to make sure there are no cuts or burns.
- Protect them from insect attacks
During the summer there are many insects that can compromise the health of our animals: fleas, ticks and mosquitoes are the most common ones. Protect dogs and cats with pesticides and check them periodically to prevent infestations from spreading.
- Pay particular attention to nutrition
Just like us, dogs and cats may have less appetite during the summer. Feed them preferring fresh and light foods. If you have any doubts, contact your veterinarian.
A good summer for our dogs and cats
Our advice are functional to the health and well-being of our four-legged friends, so that it is an unforgettable summer for you and for them!
